Reaching out to small business through digital learning

Tanya Fisher is the owner and operator of Melawondi Spring Retreat at Imbil, near Gympie, Queensland. Her goal is to provide a high-quality service for customers. To this end she uses up-to-date digital solutions in all areas of her business.

Tanya reaches out to the small and medium businesses in her area to give them the skills and confidence they need – to harness the power of the digital space as a way of boosting their business.

With the support of Gympie Council, Tanya will engage with her community more extensively to share her administrator experience and her interest and expertise in the latest digital business solutions. She’s a confident user of the current suite of social media platforms and digital technologies, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Her involvement includes:

  • acting as Facebook page administrator for five local enterprises

  • training and helping business operators learn and implement new digital platforms and applications to improve their operations.

Tanya will continue to influence and help local businesses as a digital champion.

Proposed activities include:

  • hosting social media training workshops, giving new businesses the skills they need to embrace digital technologies – including using Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter

  • establishing a virtual online consulting business helping businesses join the digital space.
