Inspiring others in business to go digital to achieve a competitive edge
Sam Bevis is the General Manager of the Sunshine Coast-based second generation family manufacturing business, Aluminium Balustrade North Coast (ABnc).
A self-confessed ‘techno nut’ Sam cites digital technology as both his passion and his hobby.
Sam introduced a digital strategy at ABnc about five years ago. The company currently runs a ‘best in class’ app that allows them to seamlessly capture and manage lead information, quotes, shop drawings, workflow collaboration and financial data. Sam has also introduced technologies such as 3D scanning, 3D modelling and 3D printing to give the company efficiencies and better visual communication aids, and a competitive edge.
When it comes to embracing the power of digital technology in a manufacturing business, Sam doesn’t keep his expertise to himself. He is inspired to share it with others.
An enthusiastic participant in the Digital Sunshine Coast initiative (hosted by Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Council) Sam is often invited to participate in local events. His activities include:
Sam was first recognised as a Community Digital Champion in 2016. As a continuing Champion, he plans to lead other manufacturing businesses and suppliers to push towards advancing manufacturing and adopting technology into their business. He will continue his speaking engagements at events, workshops and seminars, as well as hosting networking events.
