A digital community leader

Located on the Sunshine Coast

Renee Coman is an entrepreneur who founded Distance Assistance, a business that delivers sustainable health and wellbeing solutions for organisations with remote workforces. Her aim is to prepare families by offering supportive information and resources when they are divided by distance employment. The online wellness platform is designed to enhance the emotional, mental and physical wellbeing of remote employees and their immediate family. Such a service can increase bottom line productivity and staff retention.

She is also a community leader who is connecting local entrepreneurs, businesses, government stakeholders and community members. She has a dream to see everyone in her Sunshine Coast community being skilled enough to experience the advantages of the multitude of services delivered online. In every position she’s held, Renee has expanded her colleagues’ digital horizons and encouraged them to explore the many ways the digital economy can boost business, employment, education and lifestyle.

Organising and leading Techstars Startup Week and Startup Weekend programs in her local community for the last two years saw Renee bring together a diverse range of speakers to share their experiences on developing a digital identity with a goal to building capacity. She has also contributed to the Asia-Pacific Techstars Community Leaders Conference.
