Navdeep Pasricha - Round 1, 2017 Champion

Young entrepreneur inspiring youth action

Navdeep Pasricha is the 20-year-old Gold Coast entrepreneur who takes it upon himself to make an impact. In particular, he is committed to the mental health of Australia’s young people.

Navdeep sees the digital transformation of society and economy as an enabler, inspiring young people to take action and achieve great things. He founded the training organisation iYouth to work with schools and youth organisations to provide training in a range of skills, such as app, web and graphic design, and more. He empowers young people to apply these skills, and achieve things they may otherwise have thought were beyond their capabilities – in turn, fighting anxiety and depression.

In this digital age of transition, Navdeep believes that collaboration creates change. Hence, he is also a co-founder of the Bond Entrepreneurship Collective (BEC), based in Queensland, a community of 500 entrepreneurs, including people from interstate and overseas. He has facilitated numerous events with BEC, such as app design and website building workshops.

In addition, Navdeep is:

  • head of volunteers at Start-up Weekend Gold Coast
  • winner of a Bond University Business Accelerator
  • youth coach and MC at Social Media Day
  • National Young Community Achiever of the Year, India Australia Business and Community Awards 2015.

As a digital champion, Navdeep will continue to foster the growth and development of iYouth and BEC so that he can help people grow, take action and be part of something bigger than themselves. He is investigating ways to reach out to regional areas as well. He has a long list of other digital activities and technical workshops planned, including volunteering for Startup Weekend Gold Coast.

Navdeep is nominated by: Bond University
