Megan Taylor will be a local champion for Whitsunday ROC (Regional Organisation of Councils) in 2016, taking part in a regional tour to promote the benefits of the digital economy and giving a range of digital awareness sessions.

Support for non-profit groups and local clubs is a strong part of Megan's business ethos. The services she provides free to these groups include:

  • business strategy
  • website development
  • ongoing website maintenance
  • email management and marketing
  • social media training.

To date this year, she has provided free consultation to more than 30 local businesses and non-profit groups. In the second half of the year, she will offer a series of 6 interactive workshops to the community on different subjects.

Megan is also a founding member of the Airlie Beach Chamber of Commerce and serves on its executive committee. She developed the online members database and provides digital awareness sessions as a volunteer for the chamber.

Megan's company Kapow Interactive is based in Airlie Beach and Megan assists local small and medium-sized organisations by providing free consultation and business improvement advice to both current and prospective clients

As a digital champ, Megan will:

  • continue to share articles and information on online strategy with clients, the social media audience and Chamber of Commerce audience on a regular basis
  • advocate to bring more digital experts to the area for workshops
  • promote attendance at other workshops on digital events
  • provide opportunities for local media to educate the community on the NBN rollout.
