Spreading the word about digital tools for learning and business

Margaret Aspin is an eLearning developer with The Aspin Group. Margaret specialises in developing digital tools and resources for learning. She spends a lot of her time as a ‘digital communicator’, talking to TAFE teachers, trainers and others about the digital economy, digital marketing techniques and using digital technologies to communicate and create networks.

Margaret worked with the Queensland Save the Children team to produce a digital tool to help the organisation deliver child protection training in remote and regional communities. She champions the power of digital learning.

Margaret is also the facilitator of the free EXPRESSWAY Business Network, an innovative network comprising TAFE Queensland, Regional Development Australia and Microsoft. EXPRESSWAY reaches out to various businesses using speakers and case studies from universities, government departments and agencies, industry associations and successful digital businesses.

Margaret’s other activities include:

  • running monthly forums at the Microsoft Innovation Centre for fast growth SMEs covering topics such as the digital economy, digital marketing, and using digital technologies to manage operations and communicate with clients and network

  • managing two Facebook groups, posting about digital issues, trends and tools to support SMEs and educators

  • managing new IT startup EduCorp, a professional ecosystem for educators providing free online professional development for educators

  • speaking at conferences and seminars covering topics like eLearning and digital business tools for businesses

Margaret is an award-winning educator for the 21st century and a champion of flexible learning. She will continue to educate and inspire others through:

  • facilitating EXPRESSWAY forums at Microsoft

  • running fortnightly come and try Digital Bag of Tricks sessions for teachers in TAFE Queensland as well as online sessions

  • participating in Click Digital Expo 2016 and other conferences and seminars presenting hands-on technology experiences.
