Pathways through Mars to success in the digital future
Located in Brisbane
Jonathan Nalder is an educator, futurist, connector and digital storyteller who helps fellow Queenslanders think beyond today to plan for a successful future. His long-time mission has been to help people transition to working digitally, assisting all learners and leaders to embrace technology and participate fully in progressive and innovative ways.
After a 13-year career as a teacher and educator, Jonathan chose to ramp things up by founding the organisation FutureWe to help people get the skills needed to thrive in a fully-digital future. As the director, he investigates and shares solutions for this digital future in ways that guide people to shift their thinking to embrace future ways of working, living and thriving.
One of the key initiatives of FutureWe is a framework they have developed to help everyone map out their future-proof skills. From the FutureWe.org/framework page, anyone can learn about the 20 literacies or “HI” (human intelligences) that will be most helpful in helping us adapt and thrive as AI and automation grows.
Jonathan and FutureWe have also developed practical workshop programs so Queenslanders especially not only know about future skills, but can start boosting them. Future Ready 101 is a one to three hour experience in mapping out future goals and the skills. FirstOnMars.net is a one to two day training simulation open to schools, universities, training organisations and community groups that helps people prepare to thrive in the future world by:
- immersing participants in workshops focused on creative solutions for Mars to thrive
- encouraging big-picture skills especially with creativity and team work
- providing experience in 21st century skills and technologies
- blending agile thinking, virtual reality, augmented reality, drama games, team skills, and more.
In addition, Jonathan runs creative agency JNXYZ.VISION. He connects organisations and individuals to their communities via visual design, photography, video, social media, and training outcomes. He also spends up to 90 minutes every day researching future ideas, so he can distil this with his experience as a story-teller, planner, teacher, and writer.
Jonathan is convinced that education, digital learning and agile thinking have the potential to transform lives. As a Community Digital Champion, he will continue to help Queenslanders shift their thinking and embrace digital literacies. He will grow the ways that people can engage with the FutureWe.org/framework, and continue building the Future Ready 101 and FirstOnMars programs by facilitating at more schools and organisations, and by customising the program to support their needs. By doing so, he will help Queensland communities prepare for success in the digital future.
