Shifting gears towards safer Queensland roads
Dion Changuion’s digital journey has been a determined drive. With a personal interest in road safety awareness, Dion started his own Brisbane-based driving instructor business. His first-hand experience led him to design an end-to-end software platform that is changing the course of business for driving instructors.
Dion’s commitment to improving the learner driving industry is tragically influenced by having experienced the far-reaching consequences of losing his seven-year-old niece to a senseless road fatality. He started his part-time driving school to contribute to road safety awareness. Coming from a corporate career in IT and project management, Dion understood the opportunities that digital transformation presented his new industry. He knew that educating and training driving instructors to embrace the digital era would be very rewarding.

The driving instructor industry isn’t Dion’s only digital success story. Prior to embarking on this journey he ran his own IT and recruitment business for 10 years, and assisted in setting up numerous other online businesses.
As a Community Digital Champion, Dion will empower more driving instructors to drive their businesses towards the age of technology. Planning to create various webinars, Dion will guide driving instructors on the use of web technologies that will improve their connection with learner drivers, enhance their digital presence, and streamline business efficiencies. The end goal: a more focussed learner driving industry and safer Queensland roads.
