Encouraging collaborative ideas that span technologies

Craig Josic’s (aka CJ's) philosophy is to inspire and to be inspired. He loves all things digital, and is passionate about innovation projects, gamification, education, improving the way people engage online, and collaborating with businesses, governments, organisations and communities.

Based in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, Craig is the Chief Digital Officer for Schoolzine, a start-up company that specialises in digital services for schools, businesses and organisations. He was also a founding member of The Core, a group that created a Minecraft competition for the new Maroochydore CBD and attracted over 55,000 views internationally, and Code Ed, educating and inspiring the minds of tomorrow.

Craig is an integral member of the Sunshine Coast digital community, and volunteers for numerous initiatives in roles such as:

  • committee member, supporter, collaborator and host of the Mayor’s Telstra Technology Awards
  • founding board member of Silicon Coast Group
  • member and volunteer at Start-up Weekend and Start-up Youth Weekend
  • volunteer at Hackfest, CoderDojo, and Big Day In.

He’s been involved in multiple other events, including El Grande events that mash up over a dozen local meetups with 120 event participants every quarter.

Craig has many years of experience in business management. At the same time, he spent years surrounded by technologists, CEOs and start-ups working on everything from corporate strategy to digital marketing. His rounded knowledge allows him to proactively work with stakeholders to set up mutually beneficial relationships. He has productive, collaborative relationships with national and global companies like Microsoft Education, 3P Learning, Datacom and Telstra.

As a Community Digital Champion, Craig promises his ongoing commitment to innovative and collaborative projects that span technologies. In addition to his ongoing involvement in numerous volunteer roles, he is developing a mentoring portal that allows Silicon Coast members to easily find mentors or provide mentoring. He is also collaborating with other key stakeholders to develop a master calendar, bringing together a continuously updated community of people who are prepared to contribute creatively and innovatively to the digital business ecosystem.
